Pitman Training Diplomas
Galway Executive Skillnet & Pitman Training Ireland WestSkills Connect helps workers rapidly reskill and adapt to a changing business landscape.
Pitman Training will offer participants self-paced blended learning with regular webinars on personal development and one-to-one student support with either their training coach or their training and careers director.
Each learner can avail of Pitman Training’s flexible training model, with each module having a set completion time.
Each Digital Skills Diploma will offer 4 core (compulsory) modules, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook and Typing, with varying additional choices of elective courses. Our IT Skills Award offers a choice of three technical modules.

Are you looking to build a new career in MedTech Manufacturing?
With manufacturing a key part of the economy in Galway, and an essential service for the country moving forward, over the 15 weeks of this programme and a 4-week work placement, participants will gain valuable experience in:
- Quality Standards and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
- Cleanroom Operations
- Packaging and Labelling
- Infection Prevention & Control
- Career Guidance and Work Placement
CareerMAP 4.0
Are you ready to Return to Employment but unsure where to start?CareerMAP 4.0 specifically targets people interesting in returning to sectors including Medtech, Financial and Manufacturing Engineering fields.
This programme is a Galway Executive Skillnet initiative. If you have taken time out from employment and want to return, then this is the programme for you. The CareerMAP 4.0 programme is an integrated pathway to re-engage you with Employers within key local Industries. We use three key milestones to MAP participants journey to employment.
These milestones include career assessment and development, professional skills development and direct industry engagement. By taking a blended learning approach this programme will be able to offer flexible training delivery.
Hospitality Restart Programme
Hospitality is at the core of our Irish brand internationally and a key component of our economy. According to a PWC report in March 2020, the hospitality industry is worth over €7.6bn and employs over 180,000 people. Hospitality is more than just restaurants or bars and includes a much broader sector of people in accommodation, tourism, travel and recreation services.
The Hospitality Restart programme is an opportunity for participants to re-position themselves and re-engage with suitable employment opportunities. The core of the programme is career assessment and development, professional skills development and direct industry engagement. By taking a blended learning approach this programme will be able to offer flexible training delivery.
